    -Adaptation-related Environmental Impact Assessment -(EIA) Guide for Policy-Makers and Practitioners
    -Risk Assessment Framework
    -Adaptation designed Land-use Planning (LUP) Guide
    -Climate-related Environmental Management Systems (EMS).


  • Incorporation/mainstreaming of ClimAdapt (CCA) Climate Change Adaptation Guidelines into municipal & state and IFI Environmental Impact Assessments, project screening & BID review processes


  • Factor in climate change adaptation related risks into the insurance industry’s premium ratings assessment system, and public outreach programming


  • Support initiatives to incorporate climate change adaptation policies and development methodologies to food, water & health security initiatives, poverty alleviation efforts, and publicly funded infrastructure development projects in Canada and the developing world


  • Export development via inter-agency partnerships


  • Support of Nova Scotia’s Energy Strategy


  • Support of Eastern Canadian Premiers & New England Governments’s Climate Change Action Plan 2001


  • Under an NSEIA contract with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agengy (CEAA), participating ClimAdapt members have completed 6 cross-Canada case studies (i.e., coastal wetlands; aquatic habitats, bridge design, offshore energy production platforms) to validate the EIA Guidelines
